Happy Father's Day to you, Micah. You're the only person I've seen here to mention children (a daughter), but I've only been to this site since the end of April. I'm sure yesterday's race started a nice early celebration for you. I have no children, myself.

My marathon buddy Ralph's wife is still nagging him after three decades, because he spent the kid's growing up years training for, and running endless marathons and ultras.

Personally, I think she should be grateful that he didn't spend that time in bars or chasing women (except while running).

None of his four kids really took up the sport (though the youngest daughter ran in a 5 miler with us).

One of his son-in-laws ran a half marathon with me.

Ralph no longer runs, but he does give me considerable encouragement. I believe I am the only one of the old group still at it. Mad Dog Mike www.training2run.com

I think my dad was out of town on father's day, which is just as well because I had no vocal abilities to call and wish him well...

Off and on ... literally...

At least I won't be pulling back to back 12 hour days with hardly a break, so I should start feeling a bit better as the day progresses.
