US Olympic Trials'2007: men (from www.usatf.org)
Ritzenhein and Sell placed 2nd, and 3rd, respectively in 2:11:06, and 2:11:40.
The winner, Ryan Hall proved to be a star of the event winning in 2:09:02 (his marathon PB is 2:08:24 from London).
To me, a marathon runner is ready to make a difference, not necessarily win a medal or win the event, in the major world—championship level competition once he has ran twice marathon in under 2:10.

Aside from all that, what are your ideas/impressions about a sub 2 hour marathon?
