|
|
I am having some slight tenderness on the inside of my right knee...I ran 42 miles last week which is not the most I have run in recent weeks.....I ran 50 a couple of weeks before that. I have now taken two full days off of running and am trying to increase my stretching regiment as I am training for the Rock n' Roll Marathon in San Diego...I am curious if I should run through this tenderness as I don't want to lose training time or if I should take additional days off.
Anyone have any input? |

Ice it for a few days and see if that reduces the soreness. Knees can be funny that way, with soreness coming and going inexplicably. If it doesn't improve, you might want to get it looked at to make sure there's no damage. It sounds like just an aggravation, though.

This is kind of off topic, but how many pro runners get their knees replaced with prosthetics? I have heard an athlete's knees only last 15 years before the bones start to grind away at each other. I dont know but when ever I see an old person run my knees tingle a little bit. |

I doubt it's remotely common, pro or otherwise.
