I am new to running and am having an annoying problem. My left ankle has started popping with every step. It doesn't really hurt, but it is quite bothersome. I am a 25 year old female in good health, but I am breastfeeding and I have heard that pregnancy and breastfeeding can loosen your joints. Is this really a factor? What can I do to alleviate this problem. Thanks in advance!!!

Hmm, this is one I don't have experience with. My only thought is to try loosening your left shoe and see if taking pressure off the ankle helps. Happens to me on occasion.
Hopefully someone else has some real advice to offer.

Well I know this is a late reply but I am a high school runner male so I hope breast feeding has nothing to do with it but both my father and I have this same "problem" it never really hurts but they pop with every step I had just always thought it was heredity and I have never a problem with it so i dont worry about it hope this helps

I have the same problem I am a 15 female running xc and my ankle pops every step I take at first it didn't bother me, but now by training up to 4 miles a day I am starting to feel pain. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me to get an MRI done. I haven't gotten it done yet but if it does start to bother c ur doctor. hope this helps |

People with this ankle popping problem, do you do enough calf/ankle/achilles stretching?
