Well, forget Paris is right ... It's HOT in Rome .. Seasonal bests galore ... Yearly leaders ...
Marion Jones equalled her seasons best at 10.89 which really makes me anticipate a meeting with her and P-Block as Zhanna has run 10.84 and I think Marion was out to beat that and didn't !!!
Mutola wins women's 1500 at 4:01.50 !!!! 16 women under 4:06 !!! Jacobs 4th in 4:02.51, Runyan 6th in 4:02.95, Teter 10th in 4:04.19 !!!
Krummenacker wins another slow one in 1:45.24 !!! Felix Sanchez goes 47.73 !!! ElG 3:48.28 (with 3 under 3:50) ... AND Ana Guevara 49.51 !!!!
Great stuff goin on in Rome !! |

Bad meet for the Hogs. Sturrup has a 5th and that's my best so far. Maybe Lagat in the 1500 and Kipketer in the 5000 can help.
After the season Szekely had last year I thought she would be a good pick but she isn't helping at all. |

Lagat didn't run and Kip took 4th.
I'm thinking of firing my coach.
Dan, at least smile when you pass me in the standings. |

Don't worry, no smiling or waving on the way by for me, although I did move 11 spots closer... Man, if I didn't have Marion on my team, I'd be in a world of hurt!
Lots of good results in the meet, probably the best so far this summer. Women's 1500 was probably most impressive for depth and generally good times. Interesting that it was pretty much dominated by people we expected to see focusing on the 800 at the start of the year -- Mutola, Holmes, and Teter. Think they're getting annoyed with the 800 rarely being run this year?
Nice to see Krummenacker putting some wins together, but I'm rather shocked by the times. Maybe no one told the men's 800m runners that their race actually is taking place???
Good to see Frankie back in business. I definitely would have picked him in the 200 if he had a race in last year for qualifying purposes, but at least I got him in the 100...
