I intend to improve track & feild spiked shoes for my upcoming final project in college.
What I really want to know is whether there are some cases about "spikes injured"? Actually,I had an experience of getting injured while I was warming up just a week before that serious game, and I was wearing my spikes!
I do want more cases like that or some other related messages about "spikes injured"to support my project.I am coming to this forum for expert advice on cases, technique, etc.etc.
Any and all advice welcome ! )) |

It seems to me your question and your project are not at all related. For one thing, I think spikes have progressed to the point that no significant improvements can be made other than fit and weight. Second, good luck correlating injuries to wearing spikes... Injuries happen when racing, and spikes are worn during races, but that's hardly the same thing. Even if you do manage to make a connection, injury prevention probably doesn't even enter the list of considerations when designing a spike for speed.

Thank you for your advice Dan:)Yes ,I think it is true that my experience of getting injured made me put the "spikes"&"injuries"together.I talked to some Mid-distance runner and coach, they also mentioned that the key of a Mid-distance spikes is weight and fit,as you said.but they do agree that they feel uncomfortable sometimes when/after racing, such as forefoot, arch, heel etc.Would you please give me further tips ?
Grateful for your advice again and it did help me alot:D
