The Headline should have been:
An eldery player needs retirenmnet money; his agent wants to squeeze a couple more millions as well. His team is very willing to hike up his price before they will sell him.
Everything is a comodity.
The reason most soccer teams play G:3:5:2 is not because it is the best system, but because "5" or the midfielders are the cheapest (some strikers run onto the gaol from the midfield, but this is their nominal position; plus a tall pseudo--attacker in front of them shields them from the brutality of some of the legs--breaking soccer full backs).
A better balanced system would be 4:4:2.
Only national teams play it.
And when down by a couple goals, possibly even 4:3:3.
The greatest coaching gamble in soccer:
5:1:4 by Argentine against Nigeria 2:1; adavanced; 2nd place in the World Cup.
The Nigerian midfield was just too great to believe; therefore, the Argentinian coach decided not to challange it, but lobe balls over their heads.
The system from the 1920's. _________________ http://vincovitanj.tripod.com/Do_not_be_a_victim1/index.htmlhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u43o595CARQ
