Hi - My first half marathon is getting nearer, September 24th, and I was wondering about the distance I should be covering at this stage. My longest run, reserved for the weekends, is currently at 11.5 miles. Is it necessary for me to actually run the half marathon distance before the event? I'm also running 3.2 miles each on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and just under 5 miles on Wednesdays, sometimes adding a further 3.2 mile route on another day, depending how I feel.

That distance of race preparation isn't my specialty, but I would feel much more confident heading into the race having covered the distance previously in training. An extra two miles on one of your long runs this week or next probably won't hurt you. Two weeks to taper down the mileage before the half marathon should be sufficient, allowing you two more weeks of consistent training.
Cheers,
