There also seems to be a distance race in all that we know of except one

Yeah, but you can't count the 1500 together with the 3k/5k/10k ... they're totally separate events and likely to be very different fields. The 5k could work, but it doesn't look like much better than 50/50.

The men's 200 doesn't look all that promising, either... Pretty much, if it isn't a GL event, it isn't worth adding. Sad I figured it would be too good of an event this year for meets to pass on, but maybe I should save myself the trouble (of data entry) and remove it?

True but isnt the Men's 3K/5K the same list? that would work... i know in the past we have done that for the ladies.

It look sto me with the current data the 400 would be a good choice for the men as well only 1 meet so far doesnt have it.

For the ladies it seems that way although I do disagree to some extent in that a lot of the women 3 and 5 kers do drop down to the 1500 and often the 1500/3k are the same field

seems to be the way of the women that double down from LD which is in contrast to the men that do the 800/1500 double.

Also only a few 10K's (FBK, MVD and Worlds) so far so that MVD meet should be fun to watch...

Keep in mind, the 1500 and 3k/5k/10k rankings are for separate events, thus separate purchase prices for those athletes. Trying to combine them into one list makes things equally sloppy and meaningless.

Even if the men's 400 is contested regularly, I have a hard time believing it's worth adding... I don't think there's a less exciting event out there right now.

Oh I agree with you it would be a mess to combine them there I was just stating that the fields are close esp in the 1500/3k (but then again the 3k looks to be only a male event during the summer.

As for the 400 I can see your point seems the JW can win at will but other placings can vary and I am curious to see how the newer guys do... the 800 seems to be very deemphasized this year.

Shame about the 800. I was looking forward to Symmonds highlighting my roster...

I know I think it will be a good event but it may be next year... I do think that for the ladies also it will be a fun event to watch esp after seeing that NCAA final...

So are we sticking with whats there I guess... or are there going to be additiional events... or removal of an event?

Just dont want to go through the effort at this point until things are solid.

Welcome to the elite club. Smile

I'm leaning toward leaving the events as is, unless there's a strong sentiment to change. I looked at what had been selected a few days back and lots were already in the event(s) in question, so I figured it would be a somewhat messy change.

Thanks - I worked long and hard on that and its good to be at the next level Laughing

Well then I would make a plea to add one then to the either field (I would guess the wome to make them even) - a distance race. I know I am biased towards the distance stuff but it seems a bit off to have 5 sprint races, 2 field events and one middle distance race - its a huge disparity.

Anyone else feel this way?
