I have this blister on the ball of my foot right where I plant. I am primarily a toe runner, so it is unbearable to run on it for very long. What should I do to get rid of it? I have heard about poking it open and draining the fluid to relieve the pressure, but leave the skin on top.

Hi David,
That's exactly what I always do, unless it's a blood blister. You might have to back off for a day to allow it time to dry out a bit, but it should go away pretty quick.

I think i had a normal blister and it has turned into a blood blister. Can that be right? Can i tape it and continue or should I stay off of it for a day or so?
Thanks !

I'm not sure whether or not it's possible, but I would guess it is. There's nothing really wrong with running on it, pain permitting, although it will probably heal faster if you give it some time to do its thing. Taping will probably make it worse, as that invariably starts to rub at some point during the run. A better choice would be to wear some nice double layer socks like Thorlos.
