Just a little something I was playing around with last night for workouts... I did it just for 1500/3k pace stuff, but figured I'd post a version with 800, 5k, and 10k included, as well.

45:99 for 10 K: oh my gosh, I would do almost everything for it |

I might need to build in a page spanning setup of some sort to allow for larger time ranges without bogging it down. The 10k page is already a bit slow loading with 26-46 minutes. Maybe show 10 minutes per page, regardless of event?

What exactly is the hint? It's no secret that there's a wide level of ability levels, regardless of what you call them...

Wow, those are awesome. So totally comprehensive. If I want to do a workout of, say, 800's or 1200's at 5K or 10K pace, I just consult the chart and head for the track!!

I've been using them quite a bit for planning team workouts and double checking paces on the fly. I have a printed copy of the 800/1500/3k charts on hand at all times, with them narrowed down to the time range our kids are training at. Takes the guesswork out of calculating splits -- something I was never particularly good at even back when my brain was a number crunching machine.
It's also nice to be able to take a split, skim down the columns, and see what paces it corresponds to for various distances.

Dan I have also been using some of you charts for my workouts. Do you want to create a chart for the 400m run with 100-200-300m splits at 80-95% intensity for my speed endurance days??? (I'm just kidding) I have such a chart but it is not as in depth as your's. |

I tried to copy my chart to the reply section but it didn't work. I believe that I have computed correctly but maybe not. I would value your imput.
lets take two 400m times 50s and 60s:
To get 90%, I took the time and multiplied it by 1.1 so 90% of 50s would be 55s and 90% of 60 would be 1:06. 80% would be calculated by multiplying the time by 1.2. I then figured out the paces for various workouts 300s--200s--100s and rounding them to the nearest second.
I tried to replicate the chart but it didn't work.
400m 90% 80% 300s 200s 100s
50 55 60 41-45 28-30 14-15
60 1:06 1:12 |

I see what you're getting at. Use % effort to calculate a new race pace, then use that to get interval paces. Sure, I can add another chart in for 400m. It means adding in a 100m column, which is of limited use for the longer stuff, but not worth omitting from the other charts, plus changing conditions for when to show splits longer than 1 lap...
http://run-down.com/statistics/pace_charts.php?d=400m
How's that?
