I hear from a friend at the meet, that Gatlin looked VERY good in training yesterday !!!! But it has been raining there and that could spoil things ... But I was told that Gat looked good enough to run sub10 in spite of the conditions !!!
As for the Japanese, Asahara has seen better days ... Suetsugo ran a nice 10.15 recently but I just don't see him as sub 10 material ... He's much more efficient and better over 200 ... _________________ Conway

___Gatling is great and young and virtually injury free. He shall be the number one dasher for the next 4 to5 years.
___As to the Japanese, they got better in their scheduling. They know that they cannot maintain the near-- or sub--ten - - 100 m shape for more than a month or a couple at most. When they ran their respective personal bests., they got in a great shape early in the season, and they did not want to waste an opportunity to possiblY run sub 10 seconds over 100 meters - - they came very close. As of now, they know that they are capable of running sub 10 100 meters, and they do want to be in the top shape for the 2005’World Championships in Helsinki, Finland, at the same time. I was probably wrong prediction that they may take a crack at the sub 10 at this particular meet, but I do believe that one of them has a chance of running either sub 10 over 100 meters or sub 20 over 200 meters, most especially during the world championships.

Gatlin won the Men's 100m (+1.0m/s) in 10.15, with Brian Lewis in 2nd place (10.2 and Obadele Thompson in 3rd place (10.30)
Allyson Felix won the Women's 100m (+1.3m/s) in 11.30 with Angela Daigle in 2nd place (11.39)
Xiang Liu won the 110mh in a World leading 13.12 (+1.1m/s), which is good for him even though he is quite 'seasoned' already. The 110mh could be one of 'THE' main events this season along with; (Men) 100m, 200m, 400m, 400mh & both relays.
James Carter won the Men's 400mh in 48.42 which is a solid early season performance. _________________ Doubt whom you will, But never yourself.
