If you take into the consideration that with respect to the 200 m in the World Indoor Championships this is a ''leftovers'' period, one these of guys may win the indoor gold. Van Balkom won the bronze medal in the last world indoor championships, and Urbas won the gold medal in the European Indoor Championships a few years ago. However, I would bet on . . . Marcin Jedrusinski and Patrick Van Balkom to do the best of these 8 in the WIC this year. Marcin Urbas is always a great unknown because of the inherent problem in the Polish sprinting either slow well over one hour weight--room exercises, or none at all. Here, in the United States, exercises, most especially with weights, do not last over an hour (lower testosterone levels), and exercises with weights are done with a perfect technique, but at a rapid 'explosive' pace. A sprinter gets his/her technique ''99.5%'' perfect within 3 to 5 years, after that he or she hits the wall. Improving the technique helps them only a little. In most cases, the improvement in the explosive strength is the answer.
There are exceptions, people who by Nature are gifted with the abidance of muscles that makes them nearly muscle bound. In these rare cases (e.g., 210 cm tall, 90 kilos), honing of the technique is the only answer.
There other factors: plyo, and top-speed/relax/top-speeed-relax etc. race running.
The prime example that American School of Sprints works is a Polish athlete 100m H, 5th or 6th in Paris, Trywianska who lives in the US since circa 5 years ago, and is coached by her American husband. _________________ http://vincovitanj.tripod.com/Do_not_be_a_victim1/index.htmlhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u43o595CARQ
