Looks like it's starting to snow again.

How many track facilities have you seen with warm water faucets nearby?
I figure most (non DI schools) schools have the track around the football field. Sure no school will buy a warm hose just for the track team, but I'm sure universities would do quite a lot for their football team. It seems Willamette has nice facilities for their football team. _________________ November 9th... |

This was actually at Whitman. The football team was cut a long time ago, and the track is about a mile from campus.

Really? I thought Football and Boys Basketball were the only sports that actually made money (or maybe that's for HS). _________________ November 9th... |

That's a myth. The majority of schools of all sizes lose money on the "big money" sports.

Wow, Oregonians are wimps. I little snow is enough to cancel school at 10:20. Maybe tomorrow we'll have the whole day off... _________________ November 9th... |

Can't be more than an inch so far from this one, and it's already petering out.

No school today.
I just got back from getting something to eat and things are pretty bad on the roads. Our car was pretty much a big hunk of frozen metal. Hopefully tomorrow we'll get the day off, but it may just be an hour or two delay. _________________ November 9th... |

The warming we were supposed to get today is predicted for tomorrow. If that's the case, things ought to thaw out quickly in the afternoon.

I wonder if we'll get any flooding. I guess that's how the big flood of '96 started. _________________ November 9th... |

Very similar, but I think a big part of that was melting in the mountains. I'm not sure if they're predicting that this time around or if it will just be lower elevations.

The question of what my driveway would be like if it ever gets icy has been definitively answered. Picture an ice skating rink tipped at a 45 degree angle.
I tried walking down it last night and decided I'd have better luck just sliding...

Our driveway (and sidewalks) were two inches thick with ice. It's now clear now because my dad gave me 20 bucks to clear the ice off. Only people on our block that have sidewalks you can actually see and walk on without needing to worry about falling on your face (which happened to me while I was chipping away today). _________________ November 9th... |

BTW Dan,
do you know if it's supposed to get warmer into the earlier hours of the morning? _________________ November 9th... |

As far north as Albany supposedly got above freezing today, and they say that weather is moving toward us...
I made my way down the driveway this afternoon to get the mail, barely managing to stay on my feet. No way was I going to get back up the hill, though, so I had to clear a path as I went.
