I AM NOT WASHED UP!!!

I may be old.
I may be slow.
I may be fat.
I am definitly injured.

BUT I AM NOT WASHED UP!!!

I am rehabbing my injury.
I am training.
I will race June 2 in Bluffton, SC
It is a 5K trail race.
I will not win.

BUT I AM A RUNNER!!!

How fast I run does not make me a runner.
How far I run does not make me a runner.
Winning does not make me a runner.
What makes me a runner?

I AM A RUNNER BECAUSE I CAN NOT...NOT RUN!!!

I am a runner.

I suppose now would be as good a time as any to ask... Any suggestions for user rank titles (based on # of posts)?

Dan

Yeah I noticed that too ... Seems like the rankings are inverse to their relevance .. If you post a lot you get dinged ... Evil or Very Mad ... Maybe something more on the lines of "lurker" to "Verbose" or something .. Wink

How's about a list of 5 or so suggestions in order? If we get a few people's input, we can make this a community decision. Smile

Ok, taking Conway's lead, here's a list of possibles (number in parenthesis indicates # of posts to achieve that level) :

Lurker (20)
Bashful (50)
Modest (150)
Exuberant (250)
Verbose (400)

Maybe my attempt to make them running related with a touch of humor was a lost cause? Here's the names/levels currently set:

Casual Runner (10)
Dedicated Runner (25)
Obsessive Runner (100)
Washed Up Runner (250)

I nearly re-named the last one to "Once A Runner"...

Thoughts?

How about:

Shot Putter (10)
Pole Vaulter (50)
Long Jumper (100)
Distance Runner (250)
Sprinter (500)
Decathlete (1000)

Obsessive Runner...

I may spend ten hours a day seven days a week working on improving runners
I may post on this board twelve times a week
I may own more books on running than all the liberaries in the state of Nebraska

But I'm not ... oh who am I kidding.

Looks like you've got me pegged.

I think Micah's version is good Wink but it can't stop at 500, something needs to change when Dan gets to 2000.

I mightr be able to live with Micah's version if we consider changing "poster" to "runner" or something .. Although I was trying to get some other disciplines involved .. (aside from running) ... Of course you could move the sprinter to e the ultimate .. After all everyone can improve their endurance .. But only the elite can sprint truly fast .... Wink
