Hi guys.

I'm having an operation later on today(11.30am British time) on my hand.
I broke three fingers (middle, next to middel & 'pinky'!) whilst playing a game of Soccer.

The hosptial says that I shall be 'put out' by anisetic, and a 'K wire' shall be implanted into the finger next to my middle finger & my 'pinky' to straighten them out.

Wish me luck!

And I was wondering how long should I wait until training again?

The hospital says the K wires will come out in 2-3 weeks (providing there is no complication), and my official start date for Winter training is 12th October.

How long after this date should I begin to train again?

Thankyou

Sounds like a rough game of soccer!

You should probably wait until the doctors clear you to begin actual training, but there's lots you can do immediately to stay in shape, such as weight work, cycling, arm cycle, and probably even moderate running.

Just don't take any handoffs. Wink

Very funny!

You're right Dan. In the meantime I can do some very light running, whilst I am recovering.

Thankyou for your words Dan

Yep.

I'm got a plaster cast with a sling.

It went fine.
