To date only Calvin Smith, Donovan Bailey and Mo Greene have run sub10 after setting the record ...
Calvin ran sub10 3 more times after his record ... A 9.97 in zurich in '83 ... Another 9.97 at Zurich in '88 ... And his 9.99 in Seoul ...
Bailey ran 7 more sub10's:
9.91 in Milan
9.99 in Vancouver
9.94 in Nuremburg
9.97 in Lausanne
9.91 in Athens
9.91 in Athens
9.99 in Colone
Mo of course has run 35 additional sub10's since his record ... Note that Carl Lewis was given the record following Ben's DQ (going back to the '87 Worlds) and ran 9 more sub10's after that including his 9.86 record ... But technically the 9.86 was the only record he actually set on the track - and ran no more sub10's following that race ... _________________ Conway

Very Interesting stat there Conway... Is there a list as there is for sub 4 minute miles posted somewhere that has the sub 10 100M runners?
Also that 35 # by Mo is astounding! _________________ The long run is what puts the tiger in the cat. |

One of the most impressive things about Greene's career …
Is that a number of his sub10's have been into negative winds …
9.82; -0.2; Edmonton '01
9.86; -0.2; Berlin '00
9.87; -.03; Sydney '00
9.91; -0.2; Sevilla '99
9.91; -0.4; Osaka '00
9.91; -0.3; Athens '01
9.93; -0.2; Athens '04
9.94; -0.3; Brussells '98
9.94; -1.0; Zurich '00
9.94; -0.5; Zurich '04
9.96; -1.0; Uniondale NY '98
9.96; -0.7; Seville '99
9.96; -0.1; Osaka '01
9.96; -0.4; St Denis '01
9.97; -0.6; London '99
9.97; -0.2; Athens '02
9.98; -0.8; London '01
9.98; -0.2; London '04
9.99; -0.7; Zurich '97
9.99; -0.5; Sydney '00
9.99; -0.7; Zurich '99
As a matter of fact, as I look at this list, 21 of Mo's sub10's have been run into negative winds !!!! Only Fredericks (27) and Boldon (2 have more total sub10's than Mo has negative wind sub 10's !!!! _________________ Conway
