Some outstanding performances this past weekend .. Krumenaker and Jacobs leading the way .. Is it possible that Krumenaker is now ready to be a force over 800 this year and fill that void ?? I think he could although I am not sure about his speed Sad

Jacobs just keeps getting better with time .. The only issue there is if she can hold it for the full season .. Also has anyone noticed the South AFrican emerging in the short sprints ?? And I believe both Capel and JJ Johnson are scheduled to run udner cover so perhaps we get some insight into what the 200 may look like this year ..

Overall looks like this may be a hot season under cover .. Smile

I hadn't noticed the South African. Who's that?

I don't know how Jacobs keeps doing it... A full season would definitely be a refreshing change for her!

The South African is a young man named Nagel .. He's run 6.51 and 6.48 already this season .. Which would indicate that he is not a fluke .. Would be nice ot see a new face merge this season .. The sprints are getting kind of stale as of late .. If Montgomery hadn't stepped it up a notch last year the sprints would lhave been completely boring .. Sad ...

Jon Drummond seems to be back from his injury as he has run 6.61 so far .. Not great but good when returning from injury ..

Jacobs is a wonder ... She has gotten progressively better as she has gotten older ... I think this will be a banner year for her ... Just have that feeling ..

Anyone know of Webb's indoor plans ?? Woould be nice to see him run around 3:56 .. Would indicate some great t hings for later in the year .. Wink

I checked the Mich website and Webb has achilles tendonitis and hasn't raced yet. He is training but just isn't ready to race.

Tim Broe did well this past weekend too. US record in the 3K. Of course I do not know how it compares to the world record. Probably not too good.

This doesn't have anything to do with running, but I went to a land auction today. It was the first time I had seen one and it was pretty cool. Just broadening the horizons.

That does sound like a promising newcomer. I also noticed Drummond's return to the top of the heap. Maurice has some sort of an injury, but it's apparently not too serious.

A land auction?

Micah, I didn't know they were still homesteading in Georgia ... Smile I heard about Greene's "injury" ... But I hear he is supposed to be ready and plans on running at indoor nationals .. Also saw today that Regina Jacobs is running in next weeks Cross Country championships ..

So what do you think of Krumenaker ?? Is he ready to be the one ?? I also saw Broe's time ... Just not sure how it translates outdoors ..

Any thoughts on Milrose which is scheduled within the next 24 hours ???

Not sure about Millrose but I am intrigued by Regina at the cross country meet. If her speed translates well to the turf she could be a threat at the world champs. Let's hope she stays healthy.

The land...47 acres with a rustic cabin on a medium sized river. It was sold by absolute auction. That means they advertised for a month and then sold to the highest bidder on sale day. The bidding opened at $500 an acre and sold for $1,800 an acre. It is a good place for a weekend get away and for hunting in the winter.

Hey Guys, Just watched the ESPN2 replay of the adidas Boston indoor meet. I didn't realize the record Broe broke for the 3K was Steve Scott's. I think anytime one of Scott's records is broke we should be impressed. The only down side is the way the Kenyan ran away from Broe on the last lap.

I hope this comes out coherent. One of my wife's friends came by right before the meet came on and I made martinis for all of us. I wouldn't say I am drunk but I do think mine was a little strong.

I liked what I saw in Regina's race. As I mentioned before, she could be a force in the CC championships.

Conway, can you pick up KPIG on the radio? I'm listening to it on the net now. When I was stationed at Castle AFB in Atwater, CA 1979-82 I listened to KFAT which became KPIG. OK, I'll stop. Kurt Vonnegut said that when he got drunk he would make long distance phone calls to everyone he ever knew. This may be my version of the same sentiment.

Off to Captain Joe's and a seafood platter. (I miss the abalone in CA)

I'm back, I'm sober and I have some thoughts on the Milrose Games.

Regina is like a fine wine...getting better with age. I am REAL excited about her XC chances.

Krummenacher could be THE MAN at the 800.

Hated to see Alan Johnson hit the hurdles. I like him.

Could Chandra Sturrup be ready to become Marion's biggest competition? And does any one in track and field have a prettier smile than Chandra?

What was Amy Acuff's outfit all about?

Finally, when I listen to the interviews I can't help but believe that t&f athletes are some of the most well spoken of any sport.

Watched Adidas and Millrose .. Some impressive performances to say the least ..

Regina is simply awesome .. Smooth, fluid, and seemingly without fear ... Would love to see her break 4:00 this year ...

Krummenaker should be the man .. I will be very disappointed if he is NOT under 1:44 this year ...

The sprints could be interesting this year .. Sturrup looks good .. Her short stature could hurt her against Marion .. But she is looking strong and fluid .. But there is a big difference between 60 And 100 ...

And so far the 200 sprinters are dominating the 60 ?"?? Very interesting ... Very ...

And Acuff is alwayls wearing weird stuff .. Always ..

And yes the abalone is good here in California .. Smile

Regina looked like a true cross country runner last year at US Nationals and she's obviously in great shape this year, so I imagine she'll do very well at Worlds if she chooses to go.

I can't think of any reason why 200 guys would be dominating the 60 other than the top 60 guys aren't running...

I'd be surprised if Sturrup were to emerge as Marion's main challenge. Great relay runner, but something seems missing in the open 100. Do they train together, or am I thinking of someone else?

Micah, let someone else mix the drinks next time. Smile

I agree about Jacobs .. Just looks so good right now .. I was also impressed with Ceplak (sp?) in the 800 .. She has looked very good two weeks in a row now ..

How about Feofanova's record ?? Perhaps there will be true competiton in the women's PV this year .. May get to see what Stacy is truly made of Smile ...

Am looking forward outdoors already as far as the 200 runners go .. Both Shawn Crawford and JJ JOhnson are looking good over 60 meters (6.48 and 6.55 respectively) .. If JJ can keep that up he could run mid 19s outdoors ... Scary ..

I missed JJ in the 60m. That's huge! The way he started in his infamous sub-20 last summer, he'd have been lucky to break 10 seconds for the 60...

Some true competition in the women's pole vault will certainly give us a better indicator of where Dragila stands overall in terms of great athletes. It's been a bit hard to tell thus far with it being such a new event.

Yes that is monumental for JJ .. As a matter of fact I was t hinking last night that it might make the 100 interesting given his closing speed .. Could put him in the sub 10 range which could add a new element to the MO, Monty competitions .. Smile

Could be sort of a throwback to the Carl vs. Ben days with the uncertainty if Carl would have enough to catch up on that day. Smile
