America SCORES New England (ASNE) is proud to announce its selection as an official Boston Athletic Association charity in the 114th Boston Marathon® to be held on April 19th, 2010. We are currently looking for 15 enthusiastic and dedicated runners to join the SCORES Boston Marathon Team.
America SCORES New England is a Boston-based youth development program that provides unique literary, soccer, and service learning programming to 1500 low-income, underserved Boston public elementary and middle school students. Through our proven programming, America SCORES New England is raising a new generation of student athletes by teaching kids that teamwork, learning, leadership, and creativity go hand in hand on the field and in the classroom.
Avid runners who share our passion to promote after-school athletic and language arts programming for low-income, at-risk elementary and middle school students are strongly encouraged to apply to represent America SCORES New England in the 2010 Boston Marathon!
America SCORES New England will be accepting applications on a rolling basis. Qualified candidates will be contacted to schedule a required phone interview. Our Selection Committee is charged with making the final decisions. As a member of the SCORES Boston Marathon Team, you will receive an official entry number for the 2010 Boston Marathon, specialized marathon training/support, and access to a convenient online fundraising service which will help you easily reach your goal. All runners who are accepted and commit to being a member of the SCORES Boston Marathon Team are required to raise a minimum of $3250 to help support the underserved children and youth enrolled in ASNE’s programs.
