I was in sports fitness today having my weight day as usual until I saw something unique. On the first day in weight training, all the guys there were skinny, absoluptely no hypertrophy, but they were hella stronger than me. Anyways today I saw a kid benching around 2 45s on each side. Now most high schoolers aren't buff at all. There are kids that are just big and look buff, but the muscle doesn't show with the veins, cuts, everything else. After this kid finishes benching he got up and was flexing, and he had muscles like no other. He looked like Richard Sandrak, which is what I consider the "standard." Once he was flexing his arm, he got all of the girls' heads turning. While wearing sweat pants, Jordan basketball shoes, and a tight under armor black t-shirt what can you expect. When he was flexing I looked at myself at my tooth pick legs and arms and envied him. I sure hope it's possible to gain muscle regardless of metabolism and genetics. I've been lifting for about a month now and no size gains except strength. I've heard strength comes at first before muscle mass, but oh well. _________________ My favorite all time race: Hicham El Guerrouj - Prefontaine Classic Mile 2002 http://youtube.com/watch?v=4YykUTHzOL8

I think that the majority of kids that weight lift don't eat. That's why they get a lot stronger and still look the same. I heard that mass is is pretty much more eating than just working out and eating the same. _________________ My favorite all time race: Hicham El Guerrouj - Prefontaine Classic Mile 2002 http://youtube.com/watch?v=4YykUTHzOL8

I wouldn't base it all on just one chemical; protein. I'm saying if you eat anything in way larger quantities, it will help with mass. I started to eat like a maniac back in my body building days but I was just putting muscle on way too much which is useless for a long distance runner. I guess I was just ignoring the great physique I already have as a runner _________________ My favorite all time race: Hicham El Guerrouj - Prefontaine Classic Mile 2002 http://youtube.com/watch?v=4YykUTHzOL8

Huh? You've been complaining about being too skinny and not able to bulk up like sprinters...

Yeah I know, it was foolish I reconsidered the cause, what was I going to do? Girls, looks>London 2012, or vice versa? Even my friends asked me the same thing. I was bald at the time and got teased a lot, so I decided to bulk up to get some respect, but it was all a matter of growing my hair back. When I did a mile test run which turned out very horrible, I cried the rest of the time in the shower promising I would never do that again, and ran afterwards _________________ My favorite all time race: Hicham El Guerrouj - Prefontaine Classic Mile 2002 http://youtube.com/watch?v=4YykUTHzOL8

There is no way I'll ever be done with running. My goals are to go up to the marathon after middle & lond distance careers. I wanted to be about as bulky as Usain Bolt, but what use would that have in running. First of all I don't have the height and race for a sprinter like Michael Johnson, Asafa, or Usain Bolt, and all that muscle would just be useless in long distance running. What I do want is to be like Bekele with a large core and legs http://d.yimg.com/eur.yimg.com/ng/sp/empics/4842107
By the way, I saw that individual on television in the World's Stronget Man competition. He beat the guy from Lithuania on the Atlas Spheres. He's a beast. _________________ My favorite all time race: Hicham El Guerrouj - Prefontaine Classic Mile 2002 http://youtube.com/watch?v=4YykUTHzOL8
