Saw Noble at the Pepsi Meet Saturday. 800 in 2:03.11 with a nice finish in the last 200m. Also anchored the 4x400 relay and made up significant ground on Penn States's runner. Someone in the stands said it was 53 something. eTN may have the split on Tuesday's results. _________________ Paul

I forgot the meet was yesterday but heard some of the results today, including Noble's. Keep in mind that she also ran that fast last year as a HS'er... Of course, it is quite early in the year still.
We'll be down at Hayward next weekend for the Team X/O Invite. Let's hope the weather improves from the torrential downpour we had here today!

Turns out her 2:03.11 was a PR. I thought it might be, but I didn't bother to go back to check the HS lists from last year. To me, she looks like a sub 1:58 waiting to happen. By the way, Leanne Warren's Oregon HS record is awesome, isn't it !! _________________ Paul

Oregon has several other-worldly records on the girls' side. For a state with not much of a sprint pedigree, the 100/200 marks are pretty tough to figure.
I thought for sure Mutola would get that 800 record in '92, but she only ran the 2 XC meets and called it quits on her HS career. There probably would've been too much contention over her running track.
I'm not sure what the exact time Noble ran last year was, but it was 2:03.x. Odds are good it was higher than 0.11.
