K dont know if this is the right place to post but ever since my last track meet last week the muscle that runs down the left and right side of my spine (or is it a tendon? idk) has been hurting a lot. If i twist the wrong way it feels weird almost like it pops?
Anyone got any advice to get this to heal? |

Strained muscle, probably. Rest and stretching will help with it. I've had good luck massaging out tightness/soreness in that area -- loosens up much quicker than just rest/ice/stretching.

You may have stressed a ligament in that area, also. Dan mentioned aux back and ab work in another post. An exercise that would really tie the back, glutes, and hamstrings together would be straight legged deadlifts. Use a barbell and start out light. Try to keep yout back flat as long as possible as you bend all the way to the floor. You'll feel the pull in your hamstrings because they will be the major passive supporting structure. _________________ Paul

Yep, that'll work. Make doubly sure you start with low weight until you've got the hang of the exercise, no pun intended. If the weight is noticeable, it's too much initially.
