Tirunesh definitely could go sub 30 minutes this year if that is one of her goals (I hope she isn't like her cousin Derartu Tulu who just wanted to win and not concerned with times). |

Can anyone stop Tirunesh Dibaba from completing her 5000m/10000m double at the Worlds Championships? |

She's looking like a pretty good bet to double, but then, that double at Worlds is always tougher than it looks on paper.

With three members of the Ethiopian squad RECENT performances of sub 30:20 and the threat of the young Chinese Xing Huian kick the race should easily yield a sub 30 minute winner. |

Tirunesh Dibaba easily dispatched the field with the first sub 60 second last lap in a women's 10000m Championship. I hold up on the praises of the young athlete who is stil just 19 and already have 4 World Titles:
2003 5000m Worlds
2005 Long Course X-Country
2005 Short Course X-Country
2005 10000m
I will say this if she stays healthy for majority of her career and wants to she can break the women's 10000m WR of 29:31. |
