I'm an ex sprinter wanting to try something different and compete as a mile runner. I have more then enough speed over short distances but I need some help with my training as I have very little experience training for anything longer then 100 m. I've been training now for about a month and running about 15 miles per week as well as doing interval work. Is it a given that I'm going to lose some of my max. speed with endurance training? Can someone point me to some good info on training for the mile?
Thanks in advance
