Well, I'm back... After a move across the country, starting graduate school, getting married, etc...

Getting settled in at our new home at Ford Ord, California. LOTS of good trails to run... but I have plantar fasciitis... trying to take off miles to get it to heal.

Just have to VENT, though. I actually was caught and passed by a guy running for the CSUMB track team today.

GRRRRRR. I haven't been passed in YEARS!!! Not during the half marathon I ran early this year, not in our "fitness runs", never. Like this is the FIRST time I've not been able to keep up with someone since freakin college--7 years ago.

Scary thing was... he and I were talking and running uphill.. he wasn't even breathing hard.

Amazing.

May I please have a bigger set of lungs?

Hey, that is called getting old. Laughing

Seriously, Glad to have you back. Try early morning massage on the plantar fasciitis. I used an empty beer bottle to roll my foot on every morning to loosen it up before taking my first steps. Arch supports also helped.

You are in a great part of the country now. I was stationed at Castle AFB in Atwater from '79-'83. Visited Monterey and Carmel quite often and really like it.

Probably works better if you include drinking the beer!

Here, here, more beer!!

Urp!

Had x-rays done on my foot last Friday morning... turns out I've got a bone fragment off my heel.

Grrrrr. Again.

Anyway... waiting to talk to the ortho doc in a couple weeks. Don't know if surgery is required or will even work... but life isn't fun right now. Riding the bike, but missing running. Will keep y'all posted.

Mike
