300 m.
Race A 1 DILGER, Steffen GER 35.99; 2 ROHNSTOCK, Steffen GER 36.63; 3 RULL, Volker GER 38.04
Race B 1 FREDERICKS, Frank NAM 32.36; 2 CLARKE, Davian JAM 32.97; 3 CHERNOVOL, Gennadiy KZK 33.71
From www.athletix.org
I read somewhere that he would try to break the indoor world record over 300 m. I believe that he was unsuccessful. |

The Record for the Men's Indoor 300m is 32.19s. But the name I cannot pronounce. It was by the Seoul OG Men's 200m Bronze medalist(20.04s) behind the 19.75s of Joe Deloach and the 19.79s of King Carl.
He was Brazilian.I know the name but I don't want to myself!!!!
I find the name.

That's the name! Robson Da Silva(BRA) That wasn't so hard as I thought it would be. He ran it on the Karlshrue Track on 24th Feb. 1989 And in second was 1988 Seoul OG Men's 400m champ, Steve Lewis(USA) who ran 32.98s.

So Fredericks wasn't far off the record, cool. I wouldn't have guessed Da Silva has a WR to his name...

I wouldn't of guesed that either. But seing as he was in his prime years then (1987-1989) I knew he would of had a pretty good time to his name.

Where do you come up with an indoor record since no one I am aware of (IAAF, USATF) keeps such a list as neither do any of hte major internet list keepers (Algonet et al) ??? There is an official outdoor record which is 30.85A for MJ ... Non altitude I believe is 31.48 by Danny Everett and Roberto HErnandez in two separate races ... But no official indoor time or list that I am aware of ... _________________ Conway

Oh the IAAF keeps official Worlds REcords and Lists for indoors ... Just not for the 300 !!! And if you look at the Runners World site you won't find a list for the 300 there either .... _________________ Conway

Ah, I see what you're saying. I think the official term is "World Best" in that case, although the RW site does include the 300m on the regular records page:

I got the info of that record from the Runner's World Website.
The Women's Indoor Records and Bests are also there.

I believe that Marion Jones could threaten the Women's 300m Outdoor World Best. She did have an attempt at breaking it in Walnut 2001. She ran a PR of 35.68s at her first ever attempt. And the year before she ran a PR at the 400m(49.59s) also in Walnut. I found her 100m Split Times in an issue of Athletics Weekly (AW) dated the Wednesday after she ran the race.
100m:12.52s (0.00s)
200m:23.50s (10.98s)
300m:35.70s (12.20s)
400m:49.59s (13.89s)
200m Splits:
23.50s/26.09s(!) =49.59s(PR)
But Marita Kochs' 34.14s (34.1s) World Best for that event is quite far out for Marion even if she did have more attempts at trying to break it.
I think that if Marion would of run the 400m in 1998 or 1999(Her Best years)
she would of run in the 48.6-49.0s range. But that just my opinion.
