Hot diggity! Well done, and way to get me looking in the rearview mirror... Thumbs Up

Looks like some stiff competition in that 0-99 age group. Smile

Yea, that 0-99 group is a big one Laughing

Good time! You are just a tad faster than I am.

What was the temp during this run

Most likely between 45 and 55, although there have been a few 60 degree days of late.

Your typical Oregon winter forecast: Low of 41, high of 42...

Nice work Paul! Good job. I've been avoiding racing Hammer for the past 6-7 months (he's never beaten me, but if we were to race now he'd destroy me), you get much faster and I may have to make it a point not to race you either. Of coarse if you live in Nebraska, it isn't hard to avoid racing someone in NM, or OR for that matter. Wink

Thank you!!

It's been very dry and cool here, lately. I don't think the temp had hit 40 when the race started. I wore loose fitting Dryline tights and 2 long sleeve Coolmax Alta tops for the race. Many people wore glooves. The bonus was that traction was excellent, because we did venture on to some trails. This was the longest sustained run in a year for me. Surprised Of all the things I brought with me, I forgot my stopwatch. I had no idea how fast or slow I was going, only how tired I thought I might be. I also have no sense of pace at this time. I figured I should be able to maintain an 8:30 mile pace, so when I reached the finish under 25:00, I was quite happy and surprised. Those who know me on this site know I'm 53, which was printed on my number, but since I was also the 53rd finisher, maybe they got confused and just chucked it. Laughing

I was surprised that Noah wasn't there. Last year he was 3rd, and his time last year was 20 secs faster than this year's winning time.

Kevin is organizing a Spring XC series. Maybe my health will allow me to be ambitious and enter some.

The club I joined in August, Big Red Lizard, won a bunch of year end awards from Sports NW magazine for best website and Kevin's Adventure series. The name?? Don't even ask, I have no idea!! Surprised Rolling Eyes Neutral

Hey Paul, didn't you also forget your stopwatch when you came down for the Willamette Invite? Wink

Is "Big" officially part of the Red Lizard title?

No Noah??? That is big news! Surprised I half jokingly told him I thought he was racing too much after a few sub-par performances this fall, so maybe he took my advice to heart... Or maybe he just raced elsewhere...

http://www.bigredlizard.com/

I think Noah ran in most or all of the 8 Fall XC races Kevin put on, plus he won the Kevin's Cup XI for the first time this year, so it could be he was finally taking a well deserved break.

I have remembered to bring my watch with me to the Tuesday interval workouts, fortunately. Actually, now that I remember, I did bring my watch to the Willamette Inv, because I was comparing how I would do in the women's races with the last runners!! Surprised

Yes, MW, this was my first race. I started at the very back of the pack, so it was a few secs before I actually got to the start. For some reason I just went brain dead when the race started. All those things you think about when you're training, good turnover, erect position, running tall, they were out the window!! I just moved along with the crowd. I did notice that I tended to pass people on the hills. I got whipped by a 9 yr old, a 13 yr old, and a 78 yr old, so there's room for a lot of improvement.

Oh, and there was a six yr old girl who mounted a sprint at the end of the race, where if I had been anywhere near her, she would have smoked me!! Surprised
