TODAY I AM GOING TO RUN FURTHER THAN I EVER HAVE BEFORE

THAT WAS MY INTENTION AS I HEADED OUT THE DOOR

MY ATTEMPT IS TO RUN LIKE I DID WHEN I WAS SEVENTEEN

MY MIND WAS SHARP, MY LEGS WERE STRONG AND MY BODY LEAN

JUST WHEN YOU WERE FEELING YOUNG AT MIND

RUN A FEW MILES AND YOUR AGE WILL BE REDEFINED

WITH EACH MARKER YOU SET AS YOUR STOPPING POINT YOU PUSH YOURSELF TO REACH IT

YOU MUST LEARN THE ART OF PACING YOURSELF AND KNOWING YOUR BODY’S LIMIT

YOUR MIND IS DOING THE WORK TO KEEP THE BODY IN MOTION

JUST BREATHE IN AND OUT AND PLACE ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER, THIS IS MY SECRET POTION

THE GREATEST CHALLENGE YOU WILL FACE IS THE INCLINE OF A HILL

REMIND YOURSELF OF WHEN YOU’RE AT THE TOP HOW REWARDED YOU WILL FEEL

A STRONG MIND AND HEALTHY BODY SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED

IT IS WORTH THE EFFORT TO MAKE THE MOST OF EACH DAY YOU ARE HANDED
