If it makes you feel any better I either never heard of or forgot about him too. Neutral

All warm and fuzzy, and that's not just because I'm wearing a fleece and big socks. Smile (Yes, our current low is roughly 65 degrees colder than our high of 2-3 weeks ago, both of which were records.)

Ogunkoya was great for a couple of years or so like Justin said ... But I thought he was suspended ???

And Frank Budd was a sprinter at Villanova in the early 60's ... But he was more a 100 man than 200 ... I think you were thinking about Mel Patton who was a prodigy in the 40's and I believe he had a supposed 20.2 on the straight !!! I wouldn't quite putn it in the same category as an auto timed sub 10.00 Wink

I don't think Ogunkoya was busted. He had marks, albeit poor ones, in 99 and 00 so was around. Perhaps you are thinking of Daniel Effiong, another Nigerian prodigy who was top class 92-94, sub 10 in 93. He was done for steroids in 94, aged 22.

Ah yes lll I think it was Effiong ... He made the WC final in '93 and was one of the favorites going into the final ... Ran somewhere around 10.02/10.04 I think ...
