DG, do you coach the middle distances also?? What kind of strength and explosive training do you favor with your athletes?? Dan, you too, of course.

I prefer a concoction of Nandro and C4, personally. Mixed just right, it's even more potent than low doses of arsenic. Wink

My Nandro was post dated 20 years ago so I had to throw it out. It was starting to cloud up!! Wink But I did order $700 worth of Mag-10 from Biotest (testosterone.net) because they said it wasn't on the banned substance list!! Surprised Wink

Heck, considering the ineptitude of the testing program(s), those goofballs at testosterone.net may just be the ones calling the shots... Smile

I did work with some mid distance runners last year, however this year we have a former NAIA All American in the 800 who's helping us out with that. As for explosiveness stuff I don't do that much. We do basic strength training with wieghts (squats, bench, basic stuff like that) as well as plenty of hill strides (hill repeats, but when you call them hill strides the kids don't complain as much.)

Excellent pun since giving the shots is more like it.

DG, I take it you still have the milers. Do you see any friction developing if he introduces a bunch of plyometrics??
...and you never answered your definition of "accumulation week".

thanks

I only have the milers that run cross country. I don't see any friction, we actually have fairly similar systems.

As for my definition of accumultation week it is simply the last week in a four week cycle in which you back off on either mileage, intensity or both in order to allow the body a little respite to adapt to the hard training done in the last couple of weeks.
