|
|
Remember those promotion boards a couple of weeks ago? We got the results back today.
We use an assessment center based system with every eligible individual going through an assesment center and then being ranked into one of 3 bands. Band 1 is the highest ranking and gets first opportunity to be considered for promotion.
I made it into Band 1.
What that means now is that I am one of 13 who will be competing for 6 available promotions between now and December. As each opening is announced any of the 13 who are interested apply for the position and our Director then chooses who to promote. Since these positions are spread out all over the state all 13 may not put in for each promotion. Some people have families and simply can't relocate.
My first chance will be in the next 2-3 weeks and I'm guessing only 4 of us will put in for this one. Wish me luck. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

That is very good news. You probably noticed it was a slow weekend at Run-Down. How about an update on your calf??

The calf is being aggravating. I've cut back some and since I don't have any races planned for this month I'll continue to go easy and let it heal.
I'll try to be ready for the fall racing season. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Well sports fans here is the final promotion update.
I got promoted.
My new office will be in Savannah and that is close enough that I don't have to relocate.
I'll still be in drug enforcement and I will be the one in charge, sitting at a desk, pushing paper and telling the young agents how we used to do it "back in my day"! _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Cograts, that's a big step!! How long will your commute be?? Weren't you going to Quantico this week for a couple of months?? And... I assume that you work for the State of GA so does GBI stand for GA Bureau of Investigation, like a state equivalent of the FBI?? J. Edgar Micah has a nice ring to it.

Thank you all very much. I don't know whether to be excited or scared with the new responsibilities. The commute is only about 45 minutes and I leave for Quantico at the end of the month. Fall in northern VA will be very nice. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |
