I was recently told that if you could hold 30 sec 200m repeats 10
times at about 1-1:30 rest that you could run around two minutes for
the 800. I did a workout today consisting of six 200's at full speed
where I kept the first five at 28 and did the last in 27(on about
1minute to 1:30 rest). Does this workout show that I could go around
2:05 for the 8(I need to run this to be on my school's 4x8 team going
to penn relays). I have gone 2:10 indoors on pretty much no distance.
Any help on this or suggestions to improve to this time in a month
would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Seems to me that rest is too long and the interval distance too short for the pace to be that good of a predictor. I've found one of the better predictors is 4x400 with a one lap jog. Total distance is similar to 10x200, but the distance of each interval is closest enough to the 800m race distance that it better approximates how you will be running throughout the race.

I must say, I'm a bit confused why you would change the pace and the number of intervals for your own workout and expect it to be any semblance of a predictor (faster pace, less reps, slower predicted time)... I really couldn't begin to guess what sort of pace that workout predicts, sorry.
