Do you know how many carbs are burned by jogging one mile.

All else being equal, I think the number is something like 350 calories on average, but it might not even be that high. Variables include intensity, your metabolism, running conditions, etc.

I have read (somewhere) to base calorie burning @ 200/mile. But I'm not sure. Some people I have talked to believe that it is relevent to time and not mileage. This plays into what Dan stated about intensity.

It's possible we're both right... I think 350 calories would be fairly comparable to 200 fat calories, so maybe we both saw corresponding numbers and are remembering half the equation but in hazy fashion? Wink

There are lots of calculators on various websites- do a search ! My understanding is that you have to take into account speed and your weight- and I came across a calculator that uses these as input- it was at http://www.carbboom.com I think... I am sure that the calculations are all quite general as not everyone burns calories at the same rate, even at the same speed and weight.
