Seems strange to hear an American name alongside a time like that!

I agree to some extent, however did you see him run in NYC during the olympic trials... After watching him live both there and the year before at the USA XC champs at Van Cortland... He just floats - thats the only way I can describe his stride. even when he picks it up so silky smooth its just amazing to watch. (i coul dhave used a bot of that magic on Monday alas once again it was not to be)

That would imply being able to watch non-local running events...

With being so young, he has a lot of time on his hands to push his time way further. But then again, I agree more with African training than American.

Well Dan they have this little thing called the internet... the whole race was streamed... they also did a highlight show if you would like I can probably burn for ya... Wink

I watched it on the stream and was there haha... we screamed our head off in the park and I like the dork I am brought my laptop and aircard and after they went by sat down and watched the race unfold as well - I was popular that day with all the rest of runner geekdom

And training is training it is neither African or American it just that hard training - and at Mammoth Lakes they have adopted the team training mantra that has been around for quite some time...

Funny how all the Africans dominate running. Marathon, 1 hour run-Haile,
5K, 10K-Bekele, 1500, Mile-Hicham, 100m-Asafa Powell 400m-Michael Johnson, 800m-Wilson Kipketer. 1000m-Wilson Kipketer & Noah Ngeny.

The only exception would have to be Hicham, he's more of Arabic descent. The majority of Africans don't live with the technology whites have. It's in their everyday life to keep moving instead of taking the BMW.

Asafa Powell is not African, neither is Michael Johnson...

Hicham is African - it is the continent on which he lives.

Agreed they do not have the technology that many white americans have, sure but that says nothing of their training. I would say that their lives of in some ways deperation does give an advantage... Your comment was regarding their training.

Tell me who are the coaches in Africa. You know the ones who formulate the training?

He has African descent in him. People with African descent have their own physical qualities than others
