In a world where most track and field meets’ hosts do release the start list one month or more in advance – even if athlete’s participation is in doubt – to attract spectators and attention; the Greek Super Grand Prix’s hosts have surprised me with the non—release of the “subject to change” start list until 48 hours before the beginning of the meet. I am confused. Should I applaud them for honesty, or be upset?
It reminds me of the situation just six months before the Olympics.
The Olympic Committee was upset that many objects necessary for the Olympics to take place were planned to be finished on the very last day – just before the opening ceremony. However, they did not take any action against the Athenian hosts because everything was indeed finished one day before the very first day of the Olympics.

In reality -- we have already chosen our teams for the Track and Field Fantasy League; therefore, it is beyond our control who will partcipate or who will not.

That ain't gonna get it done... I'm not looking much better. I've got more than you in the men's 100 alone ... but they're all in the same heat, so advancement may be tougher, and I don't have much listed in any of the other events.

100:
Anson Henry
Olusoji Fasuba
Jason Smoots
Deji Aliu

LJ:
Irving Saladino

HJ:
Amy Acuff

No distance races at all so I am in deep - oh well top ten was good while it lasted... haha

Judging from the event selection and start lists, I'll be surprised if anyone represents particularly well this meet.

Conway, it looks from my quick skim of the list that you had the highest score this week by a large margin -- nearly 50% higher than anyone else's! Nice jump up the list to go along with it.

I'm just happy most everyone fared as poorly as me, so the plummet didn't really materialize.

I hope to continue to progress up in the ranks of the T&F Fantasy League. I started in the 25th, advanced to the 24th, and after 3 meets, I am in the 21st place.
This year's league may have about twice as few participants as in the previous years (around 150 to 200 each season), but the quality is much higher.
