Dan's workout Saturday was excellent. We held a good, solid pace on the loops and he had good power up the hill routes. Myself, I have really been enjoying these workouts. I missed them last year. Last week I was just 1 1/2 miles shy of 50 for the week. _________________ Paul

After two days of rest, I think I'm ready to try running again today. That workout was a killer. Quads are functional again and blisters are mostly cleared up...
I suspect you'll be over 50 this week, if I've got anything to say about it. M-Th-Sa should net you close to 30.

9.5 miles today on a very hilly course, stopping only to stretch my leg at 2.5 miles and to get water at 5 and 7 miles. I'm completely exhausted now! I got stopped by two trains at a rail crossing on the way home, and I didn't even care, because it was more time to sit there and chill.
Paul managed 10+ miles and was still going strong at the end.

Given how tired I was after, I can only hope it was a bull's eye.

Monday, we went down to Corvallis for a run in the woods. 9 miles of most excellent trail running, although I had to walk a couple of times on the brutally long and steep climb in the middle and was completely tuckered out by the last hill with about a mile to go.
Tuesday, I slept in late and took two long naps before going to bed early...
I tried running Wednesday, but was still extremely tight and a bit sore, and I only managed 2 miles.
Today, I did 4 miles continuous plus drills after. A bit tired still, but definitely bouncing back.

Let's see, I ran light on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday this week, pacing new kids on the team through 3-4 milers. Yesterday, we did some ab work after the run, which I joined them for, and boy did I wake up sore today... Then today, we went to the coast for some dune running. Two and a half hours of that and I can't decide if I'm more sore or exhausted, but there's plenty of both to go around! Running in the deep sand was nice, though, as it kept the aches to a minimum.
Rest day tomorrow, then some light trail running Monday.

While running on rocky trails today, I tweaked my ankle a bit... Same one that's had all the problems, but at least it was strengthened up enough from the last bout of rolls to bounce back reasonably well. It's a bit sore and tight, though, so I'll be taking it easy for a few days.

I did a very light 40 minutes on Wednesday and came back for 10 miles of long run/hill repeats today. Felt pretty good overall, with only minimal foot soreness. Paul managed 12 miles.

Paul and I had an excellent 60 minute run in Tryon Park up in Portland yesterday. Visiting my old HS stomping grounds was a welcome change of scenery and reinvigorated my legs. I even had some spunk on the [many] hills, which hasn't happened for quite a while.
