Briana Shook and Elizabeth Jackson should represent the United States. However, their chances at scoring medals are rather low. Thier personal bests are above 9:30.
-------
Patrycja Wlodarczyk, recent personal best of 9:53, Justyna Bak, former world best holder, and Wioletta Janowska, 2nd on the world list with 9:25.09, may be three Poles to start in the 3 K SC women's inauguration during the upcoming world championships.
---
Wioletta Janowska has already qualified for 3 K SC and 5 K, but I do believe that she will focus on the 3 K SC, since her chances at wining a medal in 5 K seem to be much lower. The situation may, however, become much more interesting, if the ladies whose personal bests are just above 10 minutes will get the qualifying times.
This, however, is unlikely. She was second in a Super Grand Prix in Athenes meet in 3 K SC.
-------
Docus Inzikuru from Uganda, the world list leader with 9:15.04, seems to be the most likely candidate to win the gold medal, and Salome Chepchumba of Kenya as well as Livia Toth of Hungary to compete for the bronze medal.

My prediction is, in spite of the above--written:

1. Livia Toth Hungary
2. Wioletta Janowska Poland
3. Justyna Bak Poland

I do believe that there be too much competition within Kenya for anyone experienced to go to the worlds.
I believe that Briana Shook will do really well, and she will be the gold medallist, but in Beijing in China, 2008. In the long distance races, it takes a long time to get to the top.
