Will the World Championships count in the Fantasy League, if so will it be the same as any other meet? Just wondering!

Top-8, actually. It's the championship meets that bring the emphasis back to big meet scorers, whereas the other meets might place more importance on just getting as many people competing as possible.

Do the world championships count as much as any other meet, or do they count double?

Regardless, of that, predicting who is going to participate in the finals of the world championships is an important part of the process of choosing the team for the Track and Field Fantasy League (e.g., Robert -- New Jersey).

Let assume that somebody wins and receives a medal, and that before the end of the championships, the medalist gets disqualified, will he or she still count as a medalist?
If not, will the 9th finisher count as one of the top 8, if there were more than 8 competitors in the final.

As far as I'm concerned, everyone's on something and getting caught is no more an indication of guilt than not, so when the results come in, they're official in my book. I'm not keen on rescoring simply due to the politics that go on with drug testing.

Yes, the statement "I've never tested positive" has been rendered moot by BALCO and the knowlwdge that there are designer undetectables out there !!!!

Not getting caught is simply a matter of having the right chemist on staff and instituting the right protocols ...

Slightly off topic, but did anyone notice last week how light of a slap on the wrist Conte got? Considering how big of an investigation it was and how much dirt they apparently had on him, I have to think he spilled the beans on other operations similar to BALCO.

He gave up something good ... No doubt about that ... I'm thinking more on the line of specifics on the athletes he worked with ... I'd be willing to bet that he had stuff the government DIDN'T find in their raids ... Or didn't know what they were looking at ...

With Bonds and Jones and Montgomery being such high profiles, I'm sure the government would want to bring them down ... Makes them look like they have actually accomplished something ...

That's possible, too, although it seemed to me they had plenty on the known athletes to not need additional help from Conte.

Odds are BALCO wasn't the only lab producing designer drugs, and odds are equally good that Conte was enough in the loop (especially considering his connection to Francis, who's apparently in every such loop) to be familiar with those other operations. Seems like a good fit to me that the Feds would go after that connection.

I've had to re-evaluate my goal of maybe winning the Fantasy T&F league as three of my top athletes are now injuried and not running the next meet and questionable for the World Championships. The two most significant are Asafa Powell and Worknesh Kidane. Not sure about my third injuired athlete Dwight Thomas but if he misses too many meets more valuable points lost, maybe a top 10 finish will be possible with my other athletes performing well and speedy recovers from those three! Oh well next year I'll do it differently and prepare for any situation including the one I'm facing this year (LOL).
