Hey if you guys remember me from before, I am a runner who just transferred from a school with no running program to Edinboro University.

Well, I have not had a chance to post or even really read messages too often this summer due to traveling a lot and moving to a new place, but I am finally back.

Camp just ended for XC and I can't wait for the season. I will go ahead and keep you guys updated using this thread of my results. First meet: Buffalo State - Sept 6!

I'm looking forward to XC this year, too. I hope to run in a few series of meets and hope they don't conflict with going to a few Willamette races to watch and maybe help out.

Good luck running, Jason!

Or you could go for the ultimate experience and run in the Willamette Invite. Wink

Good luck to Jason and all the rest of you with racing this fall. There is a XC meet in my area in Nov and I intend to be in it!

If this forum seriously needs anything it is for the participants to get out from behind the computer and out to the starting line. Very Happy

When's the last time you ran XC?

If I can continue this unprecedently (sic?) long injury-free stretch of running and actually get into real training shape, then I'd love to step up the racing schedule and have more to report...

The last time I ran an XC race was in 1999, my freshman year in H.S. I am looking forward to it again though.

Now in college its the 8k instead of the 5k, but I am not afraid because I am starting from scratch afterall.

I'll keep you updated on the meet in 2 weeks... everyone else: GET OUT THERE AND RUN SOME XC, ITS FUN! Razz

I was actually curious when Micah last ran a XC race, but good to hear from you, too. Smile

OK you bunch of heathern unbelievers!!!!

My last cross country race was November 1999. Not too long ago. It was an 8K that was true cross country. Only 100 yards of pavement on the entire course. It is the same one I want to run this Nov. Like you Dan, I am in a great streak of uninjured running so now I'll just try to hold on to it.

BTW, the daughter and I are racing 5K this weekend in the same park where her high school XC course was. I don't know if this course will be XC or the roads in the park. But in any case a race report will be forthcoming. Very Happy

And Ranger G, I don't chase them into the woods. That's what bloodhounds and rookies are for. Wink

My personal status report:

Yesterday PR'ed in a two mile workout with a time of 10:55, a PR of 20 seconds from 11:15. I wasn't really surprised, but still happy about it.

Tomorrow is Daniel Walker Invitational hosted by Buffalo State, up at Niagra Falls. Wish me luck!

What is tomorrow, an 8k?

Yes, an 8k.

I can't wait. We have been 'racing' in workouts distances that are much longer and now the 4.97 miles seems to go so very fast. I will see how fast it goes tomorrow, when it counts.
