Here's the dish. I am going to be gone for about a week in the middle of the summer at a camp. The problem with this is that it will be right in the middle of training for Cross Country. The more I think about it the harder it seems that I will be able to run. I will be in the water a lot though and was wondering if this is as good of a cross training as, say, biking.

Fairly similar; low impact, low intensity aerobic (i.e. requires a lot of time spent to get the same effect as running). Better than nothing, but don't expect it to keep you in running shape. It's main value is as a complimentary workou -- to get more training in without increasing the likelihood of injury.
