Well I did fill the running shoes, even if it was just for a walk. And it was a day full of joy in a non-traditional way.

We didn't get to have the big family gathering so we drove down to Savannah for supper at a 200 year old bed & breakfast inn that is reputed to be haunted. (www.17hundred90.com if you are interested)

I don't know about the ghost but the food was outstanding. Starting with the crab cakes and smoked salmon followed by crab bisque and a salad with stilson cheese, walnuts and a red vinegrette dressing. And all during this time there was a wonderful gentleman with a basket of rolls who patroled the dining room and insured that no ones bread plate was empty. For the main course the ladies went for grilled salmon and chardonnay while I had rack of lamb and an excellent cabernet sauvingon. Pumpkin pie and cappucinos topped off the evening.

Is it any wonder I can't get back to racing weight? Rolling Eyes

A 200 year old bed and breakfast?? Wow, that's pretty darn impressive. Is it the original Victorian style home?

I suppose I did, too, albeit just for painting (an old pair).

It's not a Victorian, it is the old style row houses in one of the oldest sections of Savannah which is the oldest city in Georgia. The walls and floors of the dining room are brick with the original stone fireplaces and an exposed beam ceiling. Very cozy and very nice.

So are you putting fresh paint on the walls of "Villa Dan"?

And ceilings... I painted the walls in the bedroom and am about 2/3 of the way through painting what will be the theater room, which will probably be it for initial painting projects. Makes me glad I'm not a full-time painter...

I hope everyone had a pleasant Thanksgiving. Micah, I'm down to 180 now. Hope I can maintain this during the holiday season.

I know I'm late but HAPPY THANKSGIVING. I gave myself a great thanksgiving gift by going for my first 6 mile run in over a month. I ran relativly pain free and enjoyed every minute of it. Hope you all had a great day.

Sounds like everyone had a good turkey day, my father and brother came up for Thanksgiving (the first time I'd seen either of them in a year) we got to hang out and visit, quite nice.

Good to hear your back in the saddle Hammer, looks like I'm going to have to keep avoiding racing you until either you stop running for a while or I get about three months of solid training under my belt. Wink

Micah you are not Rollie Pollie ... You'd make a great fullback !!! Actuallly about 6 weeks ago I quietly began a weight reduction program ... I am 6' and weighed 232 at the time ... After Turkey day I am at 220 ... 10 more pounds and I will start running like the rest of you ... Should be after New Years day if all goes well ... Wink
