I only had one pair of Asics spikes (and one pair of Asics trainers; same story) and didn't particularly like them. Your mileage may vary.

I've heard good things about the DS although I've never owned them. And I haven't bought a pair of racing flats in so long I can hardly remember. My only advice is, just make sure they fit well.

You say that you are 160 lbs, but how tall are you? What is your running style? How does your foot strike the ground?

These and other factors need to be taken into consideration when choosing a racing flat. I find that fluid efficiant runners who do not strike the ground hard can run in a lighter flat. Runners who are heavy heal strikers should run in a more durable (maybe a marathon style) flat.

We need more information.
