Paula Radcliffe set a New World Best for the Women's Half Marathon of 65:40 (1:05:40) this morning!
At the annually held Great North run.

It's been pointed out that it isn't actually a World Best, as the course is not IAAF sanctioned due to being downhill.

Amazing Surprised

It may be a matter of semantics but if no female has run faster then it is a world best. The course elevation may keep it from being declared a record but it can still be considered a world best. At least I think so.....

World Best is an official statistical title, however. It's the equivalent of World Record for non-track/field events. You couldn't call a 400h without the hurdles a World Record for that event, so the same caution should be used here.
