I have had excessive urination during the night! Is this normal for runners?

What do you consider excessive?

Wow, that's certainly excessive! Is it only that frequent when you run?

I went to the Dr.and they did some blood work. They think it is an enlarged prostrate and are sending to a urilogists.
But I was interested in my cholorestol counts. I went up 6pts on the good cholest. and down 4 pts on the bad. My triglycerides went up 9 pts. My total count is 199. My question is I have been running now for 4 months about 15 miles a week. Should it have changed more that that?

I've never heard of any fixed amount that sort of thing would be expected to change. Exercise is just one of many factors that affect good and bad cholesterol.

It depends on how much water/liquid you are consuming. I also go to the bathroom many times in an evening, but I keep a bottle of water at my bedside, and drink every time I wake up. Yes, it can be a sign of diabetes, but outake, is definitely related to intake!

Just an update! Went to the Dr (Urlogist) and he dicn't seem to find anything wrong with me. Im still going about every 1 & 1/2 hours 5 to 6 times a night. I wished I could find out what is up. I still think this is related to running!!

I would recommend trying a good nutritionist next. The key is finding a good one... If you're anywhere near Oregon, I can recommend someone that can diagnose internal problems far better than most medical exams, but I don't know anyone outside the area.

OK,
I've gone to two urioligst now. They can't find anything wrong.
My PSA was great .06 My cholestrol went down 50pts (good went up and bad went down)
I stopped running 5 days ago and now I'm going once a night again.
The running is all pointing toward the excessive urination!!

I was drinking cranberry and cranberry-grape drinks. Thinkin that was helping. Since drinking milk and water mostly now it has cut down to once or twice a night now. I think this started with a prostrate infection at first but with a month of taking antibotics for cold and flu that stopped but not some of the juicies. I am glad to know that running was not the cause. I didn't know what I was going to do.

Can't say that makes much more sense to me, but whatever works... Do you think it's just coincidence that it came and went with running regularity?
