The number 1 runner on my team qualified along with me. Oh its not too bittersweet, its what i worked for all season, so its good to know that all that hard work paid off in the end. |

I meant bittersweet in that the team missed advancing by such a narrow margin.
That's good you'll have a teammate there with you, though. Makes it much easier to stay in the pre-race routine.

Ohhhh i thought you were reffering to the comment i made about wanting to get the season over with. In that case, yeah it was tough not having the whole team go. One of the kids i kicked past at the end of the race was actually a teammate of mine who thought he was going to be the final guy to qualify but i ended up beating him by 6 seconds |

We had that happen with twins a few years back... One outkicked the other and got the last spot to State by 0.6 seconds.

Nice job. I'm curious, but do you work on your legs via weight training?
Focus on running the 5K at an even pace. That first mile in 5:28 was at sub 17:00 5K pace. You don't want to go too fast on the first mile because it can be your last. The real 5K starts after the first mile. Keep that in mind. If you run it evenly, you will have that extra strength for kicking at the end which you were talking about earlier. _________________ My favorite all time race: Hicham El Guerrouj - Prefontaine Classic Mile 2002 http://youtube.com/watch?v=4YykUTHzOL8

Well i did have a pretty good kick at the end of my last race and i went through the first mile in a similar time (not sure on the exact time but it felt very close). |
