Well Romania has been the WORST experience so far. I'm stuck here until the house sells. I'm also not from Romania, I was actually born in Atlanta, Georgia. What can I say, Romania was an ex-communist country. I myself, a capitalist, didn't know much, so when I got here, I think I made my impressions long ago. It's acceptable to say one is American in Romania, but not Romanian in America. It's so bad that I'm flunking the school here. They do everything different, and French since 5th grade. What is up with that? In the U.S. I started French in 9th grade. The math they do is completely different. Even a simple division problem like 80/4 is written a lot more different on paper then in the U.S.

I take a much different view. Honestly, I would be surprised by any great similarities in the respective educational systems. People study abroad in college to be exposed to something (and cultures) new, not to continue on what they've already been doing.

Man; I want to be a capitalist, too (own means of production: a cheese factory or a 1000--acre farm would do).
Congratulations! Wink

Well Dan, in your view yes, but I have no time to be interested in a kind way about the differences because my high school grades are on the line. I've been used to my own ways since I went to school in the U.S., trying to change that is extremly tough. So I'm not here to explore, but to learn. Nonetheless I'm moving back and that's what matters.

[edited by Dan: let's keep politics and socio-economics out of this.]

To tell you the truth, I got dumber since I moved here. Literally, it's just crazy. I pronounced genuine with the pronunciation of "sign" in English class Confused Even the easiest exercises seem to be the hardest. I came by a problem to fill in the missing word-"She had to ----- the exam." I put retake, but they say it's incorrect-it's resit Rolling Eyes
