Dont see this happening but who knows... This kind of conjecture is interesting but I see the times getting closer respectively in things like the marathon before the 100... We already have women winning over all titles in Ultras...

The other thing is that we really have not seen a woman come anywhere near that 10.49 in a long time whereas the men seem to be pushing down towards their WR all the time... Now one can say that this is just the current crop but I just don't see it happen.

An Oxford University study found that women are running faster than they have ever done over 100m.

Unfortunately, the study had to fabricate an alternate reality in order to arrive at their desired results. Rolling Eyes

___Well with a genetic engineering becoming reality, anything may become possible.
___However, I see it the same that Dan sees it.
___Because you wish that women can be equal to men with the respect to the dashes, it does not mean that top women every will be able to much top men's performance over the 100 meters or 200 meters.
___This way of thinking is dangerous. It leads to situations in which the so-called learned Ph. D.'s announce their great discovery, after years of study, that 2 plus 2 approaches the limit of 4. The next step is the 1984 by George Orwell: 2 plus to 2 is whatever the Ph. D.'s tell us.

Agreeing with both of you here for sure...

But these kind of things are only if you let these people dictate that sort of "truth" to you... looking into things and seeing limits is a good thing, differences in study and opinion are good things, there is something to be said for just exploring the possibilities of these types of things.

Not being sexist here, but I don't think women we ever be faster than men in any Sprint race because they lack the explosiveness that men are naturally given. That is, unless, you have some kind of new 'Stella Walsh' who is an strong uncertainty in the gender catergory. Or prehaps the crazy scientists of the world will invent some kind or replacement for testosterone in women...
