this is a strange (and probably stupid) question, but I'm curious: what do you do while watching athletics on tv? do you scream, support, stay quiet, talk to the monitor? Are you alone or with other people?

I generally focus on staying awake. T&F coverage in this country is dangerously sleep inducing.

I'm usually watching it with my wife and I am trying to keep her awake. I do get excited for close races sometimes.

I watch them all but I am partial to the distance races. I even like watching coverage of marathons.

I watch as if I am at the stadium ... I often sit with a stopwatch in hand - evn though now a days the results are almost instantaneous ... I yell and scream too ... Isn't that what track and field is all about ???

And I watch everything - I enjoy all of the events ... And when I actually go to track meets I take my trusty track bag (shoulder type bag) ... It has

4 stop watches .. all split capable, 2 with memories
a pair of binoculars
most current world list
TFN Greene Book for conversion purposes

And if it is a college or high school meet an up to date top 10 list ... One has to be prepared ...
