I am on vacation for the next 2 weeks Laughing Laughing Laughing We will go to a lake in Austria. My family prefers to stay at the beach, but I have a 2 weeks intensive training in mind including some hill running. I am keen to hit the 100 km in a week. I am well aware, that increasing the training effort by 100 % is - possibly stupid Cool . What do you think?

Increasing training by 100% may be stupid...doing it on vacation when Mrs PeterJ probably wants you sitting by the lake with her is definately stupid!! Wink

Enjoy yourself!! Very Happy

My sister is in Austria right now...

I've tried the 100% mileage increase and I have to tell you, it doesn't work too well. Rolling Eyes

Well, it didn't work for me either! It was a bit disappointing, that I couldn't get even near. My daily running route included a hill with 150 m difference in elevation, sounds very little, but this almost killed me. My muscles burned especially the calves, they feel now as ballon tires, and I am flat as a tire ...

You tried ramping up the mileage and throwing in tough hills? Confused

Yes, I am a 50 year old dumbhead! Embarassed I thought 150m is nothing ...

By the way, although hill running is a killer training it seems to be very effective I was a couple minutes faster after 10 days.
