With the sprints seemingly in a state of flux/change this past season I thought it might be prudent to start looking at the developing young talent ... Following is my top 10 young sprinters ...

Top 10 Young Sprint Talents – 21 and under …

1. Justin Gatlin – 2 time double outdoor NCAA champ, sub 10 and sub 20 !!!
2. Darrell Brown – Already WC silver medalist and WJR holder at 100
3. Usain Bolt – WJR holder at 200
4. Mark Lewis Francis – former WJ champ at 100 already among Britain’s top 3
5. Asafa Powell – Became a terror at WC before false start and continued on Euro circuit
6. Brendan Christian – A high school force with many fast times, waiting to emerge
7. Ronald Pognon – Showed well at WC for France
8. Leo Bookman – 03 NCAA 200 champ is learning how to compete
9. Marc Burns – Has been in Brown’s shadow, 04 could be his time
10. Olufasuba Olusoji – Appears to be Nigeria’s next to emerge

I don't have any familiarity with 7-10, but your top 6 looks very solid. I would consider moving Bolt up ahead of Brown based on where I think they'll be in a few years, but for now Brown has the more impressive credentials. Bolt is just an absolute monster talent.

I am curious how Francis will emerge now that Chambers is out of the picture.

That will be interesting to watch. I haven't been able to tell if he's more comfortable as a front runner or a runner-up role (a la Boldon), but we should soon see.

A drug he was taking for his Attention Deficit Disorder was on the list ... He had a brief suspension as a result ... But has stopped taking it (not sure if he has been prescribed someting else) ... But has improved his 100 PR since ...

As for MLF, I think his key will be to find another coach ... I think his youth coach has taken him as far as he can ... I think he has obviously had the mentality to be great ... And I don't think he was afraid of Dwain ... Just think he plateued last season under his coach and needs something new ...
